Omega created a Seamaster Aqua Terra 150M in 2024 around the colours associated with pole vaulter Armand “Mondo” Duplantis. The release followed his 6.24 metre world record in Xiamen and uses a blue dial with yellow details that recall the Swedish flag and athletics markings. It is better understood as an athlete-linked colour edition than as a technical record-breaking watch: the underlying 41 mm Aqua Terra architecture and Co-Axial Master Chronometer movement remain central.

The blue and yellow dial
The dial has an opaline blue finish crossed by the horizontal lines familiar from the Aqua Terra collection. Yellow appears on the Seamaster name, quarter-hour numerals and central seconds hand, bringing energy to an otherwise clean three-hand layout. A date window sits at six. When comparing versions, check the exact shade relationship, the alignment of the horizontal texture and the length of the yellow seconds hand. The colour should support legibility rather than cover weak printing.

A familiar 41 mm Aqua Terra case
The stainless-steel case measures 41 mm and combines polished and brushed surfaces. Its curved lugs and relatively open dial make it wear differently from a rotating-bezel Seamaster diver. The edition is paired with a blue rubber strap featuring yellow stitching and a structured centre section. Look for a close fit between strap and case, even stitching and a properly finished clasp. An unrelated blue strap can reproduce the palette without reproducing the reference.

Calibre 8900 and certification
Omega uses automatic calibre 8900 in the genuine model. It has two barrels, a Co-Axial escapement and a stated 60-hour power reserve. Master Chronometer certification covers accuracy, magnetic resistance and performance after casing through METAS testing. Those claims belong to the certified watch and cannot be transferred to an alternative simply because its rotor is engraved similarly. Measure actual rate, power reserve and magnetic behaviour if performance matters.
The athlete connection
Duplantis has worked with Omega as both an ambassador and an elite athlete. The watch’s yellow accents connect to his national colours and to the visual language of track-and-field timing. Unlike a piece with a signature or competition-worn provenance, this production reference should not be described as the watch used to set every record. Separate the commercial collaboration from any individually documented watch worn at a particular event.
What makes the edition distinct
The case and movement are shared with established Aqua Terra references, so the dial and strap carry most of the edition’s identity. Compare the applied markers, minute track, date typography, yellow text and seconds-hand counterweight. The transparent back should show the correct calibre architecture, but dial accuracy remains the quickest way to distinguish a faithful interpretation from a generic Aqua Terra with recoloured parts.
