Editorial Policy

BuyWatches publishes independent articles about watches, references, design details and the replica watch market. This editorial policy explains how we approach research, comparisons, corrections and updates.

Our Editorial Principles

We aim to publish content that is readable, useful and clear about the difference between factual watch information and editorial observation.

Our articles are written around specific subjects rather than simply repeating search terms. Depending on the topic, we may discuss dimensions, reference numbers, materials, movements, dial variations, bracelets, bezels, historical changes and visible differences between models.

Genuine Watch Specifications

When we provide specifications for an authentic watch, those specifications are intended to describe the genuine reference being discussed.

Readers should not assume that the same specifications automatically apply to a replica version.

For example, an authentic watch may use a particular in-house calibre, steel alloy or water-resistance rating, while a replica inspired by the same reference may use different components.

Replica Watch Coverage

The replica watch market does not use a single recognised grading system. Expressions such as “AAA”, “super clone” and “1:1” may be used differently by different sellers and manufacturers.

For that reason, BuyWatches does not treat these labels as independently verified technical standards.

Where possible, our articles focus instead on observable details such as case proportions, dial printing, marker placement, bezel shape, bracelet construction, clasp design and movement information.

Sources and Research

Information may be researched using manufacturer specifications, historical watch information, publicly available reference material and our own editorial comparison of the subject being discussed.

Where an article contains specifications belonging to an authentic model, we aim to keep those details clearly separated from discussion of replica watches.

Corrections

Watch information can change and errors can occur. If we identify a meaningful factual error, we may correct or update the article.

Readers can also contact us if they believe something requires correction. Providing the article URL and supporting information will help us review the issue.

Editorial Independence

Our editorial opinions are our own. Where commercial relationships, sponsorships or affiliate relationships apply to particular content, they should be disclosed where appropriate.

Content Updates

Older articles may be reviewed when specifications change, new references are introduced or previously published information becomes outdated.

A publication date should not be interpreted as a guarantee that every detail remains current indefinitely.
